Nasarawa State Investment Summit 2026

The Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM) participated actively in the Nasarawa State Investment Summit (NIS) 2026, held from 6–7 May 2026 in Lafia, Nasarawa State. The summit was convened under the theme, “Bold Transitions: Building a Legacy for a Sustainable Future.”

Organised by the Nasarawa Investment Development Agency (NASIDA), the summit served as a strategic platform to deepen economic reforms, strengthen investor confidence, and attract sustainable investments into critical sectors of the state’s economy, including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

The two-day event brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, development finance institutions, private sector investors, and development partners, to explore pathways for sustainable economic growth and long-term investment opportunities in Nasarawa State.

A major focus of the discussions was the need to improve the ease of doing business, encourage private sector participation, and ensure policy continuity beyond the 2027 political transition through initiatives such as the proposed Lafia Declaration.

As part of its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda, NEXIM Bank engaged with investors and stakeholders at the summit to highlight its financing facilities and strategic interventions designed to promote non-oil exports. The Bank showcased opportunities within key sectors such as Agro-processing, solid minerals, and manufacturing, all of which align with its mandate to support export-oriented investments and value chain development.

NEXIM’s participation also created opportunities for strategic engagement with the Nasarawa State Government and private investors on areas of mutual interest, including trade facilitation, export financing, and capacity building for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The Bank further contributed to discussions on unlocking financing for viable investment projects presented during the summit, while also promoting access to export credit and risk mitigation instruments.

Our collaboration with the Nasarawa State Government towards hosting the summit underscores NEXIM continued commitment to supporting industrialisation, job creation, export development, and increased foreign exchange earnings in Nigeria. This engagement is expected to foster stronger collaboration and stimulate investment flows that will contribute to sustainable economic growth in Nigeria, Nasarawa State and beyond.
